Golden Appointed Chairman of Subcommittee on Contracting & Infrastructure
WASHINGTON -- U.S. Congressman Jared Golden (ME-02) has been appointed to the House Small Business Subcommittee on Contracting and Infrastructure for the 116th Congress. Golden takes the subcommittee gavel as Maine's infrastructure needs grow more severe and continue to impact business growth.
"I'm ready to put the Subcommittee on Contracting and Infrastructure to work for small businesses in Maine and across the country," said Rep. Jared Golden. "Leading Contracting and Infrastructure, I'll work to highlight how our lack of investment in infrastructure is hurting Maine businesses. I'll also fight to level the playing field for small businesses so they can better compete for federal contracts and make sure our taxpayer dollars are returned to Main Street instead of Wall Street."
The Subcommittee on Contracting and Infrastructure will work to enhance the broad array of opportunities available to small businesses for rebuilding and modernizing the nations' infrastructure. The subcommittee will also help improve the federal procurement system to improve participation by small businesses in providing goods and services to the federal government.
With his subcommittee chairmanship, Congressman Golden will be uniquely able to promote the use of Small Business Administration programs that support women- and veteran-owned small businesses.
