Golden to Mainers: What Infrastructure Does Your Community Need?
As Congressional leaders, White House prepare to deal on infrastructure, Golden wants to hear from Mainers about what their communities’ highest infrastructure priorities
WASHINGTON — Following last week's news that President Trump and Congressional leaders had begun negotiations on an infrastructure bill, Congressman Jared Golden (ME-02) announced a plan to gather input on infrastructure priorities directly from Mainers. The Congressman released a survey to hear directly from constituents about the most pressing infrastructure needs in their communities and learn how deteriorating infrastructure affects their lives. The Congressman's district staff will also begin an aggressive outreach campaign to town, city, and county officials in the Second District to identify their infrastructure needs and priorities.
"From crumbling roads and bridges to a lack of high-speed internet, Mainers have been waiting for Congress to act on infrastructure for decades," Congressman Golden said. "When Congress begins work on an infrastructure bill, I need to be ready to push for Maine priorities. That's why I'm reaching out directly to Maine communities to find out what infrastructure projects would make the most difference to them."
Golden chairs the House Small Business Subcommittee on Contracting and Infrastructure.

The information collected from the survey and outreach will provide data for Golden to make the case in Congress for the infrastructure priorities that would have the greatest impact on Maine's Second District.
