Golden Nominates 11 Mainers to the U.S. Service Academies
WASHINGTON - Congressman Jared Golden (ME-02) announced today his office’s nominees to the United States Service Academies – the U.S. Naval Academy at Annapolis, the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, the U.S. Air Force Academy at Colorado Springs, and the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy at Kings Point. To be considered for an appointment to a service academy, applicants must be nominated by an authorized nominating source, which includes Members of Congress.
“I’m proud to nominate this exceptional group of young Mainers to offer their many talents in service of this nation. It is an honor to play a small role in the journey of these accomplished students,” said Golden.
The nominees were interviewed by a panel on their academic record, test scores, leadership ability, involvement in extracurricular activities, and exemplified commitment to serving their country.
