January 23, 2019

Golden also named to Tactical Air and Land Forces Subcommittee

WASHINGTON -- U.S. Congressman Jared Golden (ME-02), appointed last week to the House Armed Services Committee, was named today to two important subcommittees. Golden will sit on the Seapower and Projection Forces Subcommittee and the Tactical Air and Land Forces Subcommittee in the 116th Congress. The congressman's subcommittees will allow him to fight for good Maine jobs, as well as ensure American troops have the resources they need to serve our country.

"I pursued these subcommittee assignments to help protect thousands of good jobs for Maine people in my district and make sure American servicemembers are well-equipped to defend our country," said Congressman Golden. "On the Seapower Subcommittee, I plan to fight for our shipyard jobs and make sure our kids and grandkids can count on ‘Bath-built is best-built' far into the future. As a former enlisted guy, I'll use my position on the Tactical Air and Land Forces Subcommittee to make sure our troops on the ground have the tools they need to do their jobs."

The Seapower and Projection Forces Subcommittee has jurisdiction over Navy and Marine Corps acquisitions, including shipyard operations, and is responsible for maritime programs.

The Tactical Air and Land Forces Subcommittee has jurisdiction over Army and Air Force acquisition programs.
