Golden Statement on 19th Anniversary of 9/11 Attacks

September 11, 2020

WASHINGTON — Congressman Jared Golden (ME-02) released the following statement today to mark the anniversary of the attacks on September 11, 2001.

"On the 19th anniversary of the September 11th attacks, we honor those who lost their lives on this tragic day for our country.

"As Americans, we must never forget the victims of these attacks. We have a duty to honor the sacrifices of the firefighters, police officers, and other first responders who answered the call that day and the military service members who followed them. As divided as things are in our country, America's response to the tragic events that transpired 19 years ago should remind all of us that we need to face the difficult challenges before us together as one.

"As we solemnly remember those who lost their lives in the tragic events of September 11th, let's make a renewed commitment to our country and to each other."
