Golden statement on Netanyahu address

WASHINGTON — Congressman Jared Golden (ME-02) released the following statement after attending today’s address to Congress by Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu: 

“Israel is one of America’s most important democratic allies and I have always supported them,” Golden said. “I appreciated Netanyahu’s recognition of the Trump administration’s work to pass the Abraham Accords and of the Biden administration’s strong support for Israel after the deadliest attack against Jews since the Holocaust.”

“I attended today’s address by the Israeli prime minister out of respect for the people of Israel and in solidarity with the families of the American citizens who to this day are held hostage by Hamas terrorists,” Golden continued. “I pray for their return and the return of all the hostages, and for Hamas to lay down its arms so this deadly conflict can end.”
