WASHINGTON, DC — Congressman Jared Golden (ME-02) continued his listening tour across the Second District last week, hearing from Mainers in ten towns and cities across five counties during last week's district work period. Congressman Golden's listening tour is a key part of his commitment to be open and accessible to his constituents.

On Saturday, Golden opened his district office in Bangor and welcomed Mainers in for an open house. The congressman answered questions from constituents, discussed the resources and services available through the office, and outlined his team's plans to be active in the community.

Golden continued his listening tour in the County. He held office hours in Caribou open to any Mainer who wished to attend. Afterwards he traveled to Van Buren, where he visited with local small businesses. The congressman also toured the Twin Rivers mill in Madawaska, meeting with leadership and workers to discuss how they can work together to protect good-paying jobs in Northern Maine. After their shift, the congressman held a listening session with mill workers hosted by the Maine AFL-CIO. He answered questions from the workers about his plans to improve healthcare, protect Maine jobs through American trade policies, and help more Mainers enter the workforce through apprenticeships and workforce development.
