WASHINGTON — Congressman Jared Golden (ME-02), joined by Brian Fitzpatrick (PA-02), Josh Gottheimer (NJ-5), Tony Gonzales (TX-23), and 18 bipartisan members of Congress, put new pressure on the Biden Administration today to reverse its decision to lift the Title 42 public health order and to help bring Golden’s Public Health and Border Security Act of 2022 to the House and Senate Floor for a vote.

WASHINGTON — Congressman Jared Golden (D-ME) today shared that the Department of Transportation’s Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) awarded over 2.6 million dollars in infrastructure funding for six airports in Maine’s Second District. The congressman helped pass the funding through the House earlier this year through the omnibus spending bill and it was signed into law in March.

WASHINGTON — Today, Congressman Jared Golden, along with Reps. Joe Morelle (NY-25), Marcy Kaptur (OH-09), and Brian Fitzpatrick (PA-01) announced the introduction of the Reparations for Ukraine through Sovereign Nation Support and Integration (RUSSIA) Act. The legislation will allow for frozen assets of the Central Bank of the Russian Federation to be sold and used to help pay for the rebuilding of Ukraine.

Washington, D.C. – U.S. Senators Susan Collins and Angus King and U.S. Representatives Chellie Pingree and Jared Golden announced that they are now accepting nomination applications from Maine high school students for appointments to the U.S. service academies operated by the Army, Navy, Air Force, and Merchant Marine.  No nomination is required to apply to the U.S. Coast Guard Academy.

WASHINGTON — In a hearing this week before the House Armed Services Committee, Congressman Jared Golden (ME-02) urged Chief of Naval Operations Admiral Michael Gilday to provide consistency regarding the Navy’s production goals for the DDG-51 and questioned whether their proposed procurement strategy would produce a shipbuilding workforce capable of meeting the Navy’s needs as it continues to build DDG-51 ships and eventually transition to the next-generation DDG(X) destroyer.

WASHINGTON — Congressman Jared Golden (D-ME) voted today to pass the Federal Firefighters Fairness Act. This bipartisan legislation, which was cosponsored by Golden, would ensure that federally-employed firefighters receive the same access to job-related disability and retirement benefits as their peers who are state, county, or municipal firefighters.

The Bipartisan Index is a non-partisan measurement of how often members of congress work across party lines.

WASHINGTON – A bipartisan group of military veterans today called on the House leadership to ensure passage of a comprehensive aid package to Ukraine. In the letter, the lawmakers urged leadership not to combine Ukraine aid and COVID-19 relief funding.

WASHINGTON — Congressman Jared Golden (ME-02), Congressman Mike Turner (OH-10) and Congressman Tim Ryan (OH-13) sent a bipartisan letter to Ways & Means Committee leaders urging them to permanently extend the Health Coverage Tax Credit (HCTC) in the America COMPETES Act as they negotiate the final version of the bill with the Senate. A Golden-backed provision to make the program permanent was included in the House-passed version of the legislation.
