Congressman Jared Golden (ME-02) voted yesterday to pass the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Enhancement Act through the House. The bill, which comes amid renewed efforts by the White House to dismantle the Affordable Care Act (ACA) in the Supreme Court, would strengthen the ACA, lower costs for many families who receive insurance through ACA marketplaces, and help reduce the prices of prescription drugs for all Americans.

WASHINGTON — Congressman Jared Golden (ME-02) announced today his cosponsorship of H.R. 2750, the Justice for Servicemembers Act. The bipartisan bill, introduced by Congressman David Cicilline (RI-01), would help servicemembers protect themselves against landlords, cable companies, and other businesses who unfairly punish servicemembers who are forced to cancel leases and other contracts when they relocate for active duty.

Washington D.C. – Following a bipartisan push from U.S. Senators Susan Collins and Angus King and Representatives Chellie Pingree and Jared Golden, the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) announced a new nationwide waiver that will allow schools and other meal sites to continue serving nutritious meals to all children for the remainder of the summer. Without an extension, this program would no longer have been available to more than 60 percent of Maine children currently receiving these meals.

WASHINGTON — As Small Business Development Centers (SBDCs) report record demand for their no-cost business advising and training services during the COVID-19 pandemic, Congressman Jared Golden (ME-02) and a bipartisan group of lawmakers on the House Small Business Committee called on Senate committee leaders today to pass the Small Business Development Centers Improvement Act.

Reps. Pete Stauber (MN-08), Dwight Evans (PA-03), Jim Hagedorn (MN-01), and Aumua Amata Coleman Radewagen (R-AS) joined Golden to urge the Senate to Act.
