WASHINGTON -- U.S. Congressmen Jared Golden (ME-02), joined by Reps. Dan Crenshaw (TX-02) and Max Rose (NY-11), introduced a bipartisan bill today to withhold pay from members of Congress, the President, and the Vice President during a government shutdown. The bipartisan group is introducing their legislation, the Solidarity in Salary Act of 2019, to prevent and limit the duration of future shutdowns and ensure that lawmakers feel the harm they cause federal employees when they fail to fund the government.

Golden will sit on the Seapower and Projection Forces Subcommittee and the Tactical Air and Land Forces Subcommittee in the 116th Congress. The congressman's subcommittees will allow him to fight for good Maine jobs, as well as ensure American troops have the resources they need to serve our country.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senators Susan Collins (R-Maine) and Angus King (I-Maine) and U.S. Representative Jared Golden (D-Maine) today announced that Pines Health Services, a community health center network with five locations throughout Aroostook County, has received $2,209,761 from the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), an agency within the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS). The grant will support collaborative efforts to expand services and lower healthcare costs in northern Maine, especially in rural areas.

WASHINGTON -- U.S. Congressman Jared Golden (ME-02) took action today to ensure Coast Guardsmen and their families are spared further harm from the government shutdown. Golden cosponsored HR 367, the Pay Our Coast Guard Parity Act, a bipartisan bill to provide regular pay to members of the Coast Guard and reservists when the federal government is shut down.
