After leading a letter signed by more than 100 colleagues to House leadership calling for the Protecting the Right to Organize (PRO) Act to be brought to the House floor for a vote, the House passed the bipartisan bill with the support of Congressman Jared Golden (ME-02) today.

WASHINGTON — Congressman Jared Golden (ME-02) wrote today to U.S. Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm to push for an agency review of the presidential permit for the Central Maine Power (CMP) New England Clean Energy Connect (NECEC) line that addresses the lack of public input for the permit.

"Every American should be treated equally before the law, regardless of race, gender, economic status, or any other factor. Our country needs to reckon with the racism and inequality which have persisted for far too long. And there must be accountability for gross negligence in the use of force by a law enforcement officer like what took place in Minneapolis with the killing of George Floyd.

WASHINGTON — Congressmen Jared Golden (ME-02) and Andy Levin (MI-09) led 110 of their colleagues in a letter to House leadership this week calling for the Protecting the Right to Organize (PRO) Act to be brought directly to the House floor for a vote.

The PRO Act, the most comprehensive pro-labor legislation in decades, provides updated protections for workers and unions, gives them more power to negotiate with employers, and imposes more meaningful penalties on employers who violate the law.
