WASHINGTON — U.S. Senator Susan Collins (R-ME), Congressman Jared Golden (ME-02), Congressman David Rouzer (NC-07), and Senator Tina Smith (D-MN) today introduced bipartisan, bicameral legislation to provide relief to family logging and log hauling businesses that have been seriously impacted by COVID-19 and the resulting economic crisis. Senator Angus King (I-ME) is a co-sponsor of the bill.

WASHINGTON — Today, Congressman Jared Golden (ME-02) announced legislation he is introducing with Republican Congressman Jack Bergman (MI-01) to direct the Department of Veterans Affairs to collect important data from veterans being screened for COVID-19 who have also been exposed to harmful toxins from burn pits during service in Afghanistan and Iraq.

Washington, D.C. – U.S. Senators Susan Collins and Angus King and Representative Jared Golden announced that the Aroostook Agency on Aging has received a total of $88,895 from the new National Community Care Corps program to help family caregivers, older adults, and persons with disabilities in Maine with the assistance of local volunteers. Community Care Corps was funded through the fiscal year (FY) 2019 Labor-HHS-Education Appropriations bill and, through a cooperative agreement with the Administration for Community Living (ACL), is led by four non-profit organizations.

Congressman Jared Golden (ME-02) and Congressman Mike Kelly (PA-16) today introduced the bipartisan Reviving the Economy Sustainably Towards a Recovery in Twenty-twenty (RESTART) Act, a bill to provide America's small businesses with the flexible, targeted relief they need to survive a prolonged economic downturn and provide jobs. The RESTART program created by the legislation would target small businesses hardest-hit by the COVID-19 crisis, offering loans for periods up to one year.
