Washington, DC – As the price of home heating oil hovers at a record high, U.S. Senator Susan Collins (R-ME) and Representative Jared Golden (D-ME) are leading a bipartisan, bicameral push to increase funding for the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP), which helps over 5.3 million households nationwide afford their energy bills.

The congressman held a roundtable with downtown small businesses and toured several sites that are being redeveloped in the coming years.

LISBON — Congressman Jared Golden (ME-02) met with local and state law enforcement officials in Lisbon yesterday to hear from the officers about the challenges they face as they protect communities in Maine and discuss what Congress can do to help. Joining the congressman were Lisbon Police Chief Ryan McGee, Androscoggin County Sheriff Eric Samson, Sabattus Police Chief Erik Baker, and other officers.

WASHINGTON — Congressman Jared Golden (ME-02) voted today to pass the bipartisan CHIPS & Science Act through the House of Representatives. The bill aims to improve supply chains, create jobs by bringing production back home, and reduce our reliance on foreign manufacturers in unfriendly countries like China.

WASHINGTON — Following remarks on the House floor today by Congressmen Jared Golden (ME-02), the House voted to adopt an amendment cosponsored by the congressman that would help prevent the closure of a number of rural VA facilities, including those in Maine, by defunding the Asset and Infrastructure (AIR) Commission. The AIR Commission was created by Congress in 2018 and is charged with reviewing and processing VA recommendations.
