WASHINGTON — Congressman Jared Golden (ME-02) reintroduced legislation today that would help ensure that rural Americans, seniors, and their pharmacists have access to important information about their prescription medications. The Patients' Right to Know Their Medication Act of 2022 would require drug manufacturers to include printed inserts containing drug information when they ship their products to pharmacies.

WASHINGTON — Congressman Jared Golden (ME-02) voted today to pass H.R. 4673, the Ensuring Veterans' Smooth Transition Act (EVEST) Act, through the U.S. House of Representatives. This bipartisan bill would automatically enroll eligible veterans for health care through the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) following the end of their military service. Veterans who sustained a qualifying injury during or as a result of their service qualify for care through the VA.

WASHINGTON — In response to a serious and sustained shortage of school bus drivers across Maine, the state's congressional delegation is pushing the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) to take steps to safely address the urgent need for additional drivers. The lawmakers, in a letter to Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg, called for the agency to delay or temporarily waive certain training and certification requirements that could keep prospective bus drivers from quickly filling open jobs.
